Athough I barely know them, I worry about my collegues in Egypt

They are fellow food processing professionals who work in Cairo. Their companies do business with the company that I work for. Although I have only communicated with them by email about work related things, my thoughts are still with them. Regardless of their politics, the situation must be rather scary for them. As middle class professionals, they have a lot to lose.
Is it wrong to identify with them when so many Egyptians are poor and have few oppurtunities? Maybe there won't be too much violence and destruction that often accompany revolutions and things will be better for all Egyptians. Still, I worry about these people because I email them and they do similiar work as me.

1. The wealth disparity between Egypt's middle class and ultra-wealthy must be about the same as the US

maybe even more dramatic due to oil.

If I were them, I'd likely be on the streets too.

3. They are Egyptians but they do work for American owned companies

I just saw an article that some American companies have closed during this crisis. I hope that they are safe.
