Tea party candidate: Tea Party 'Wouldn't Exist Today If Republicans Hadn't Failed Under
Edited on Mon Jan-31-11 11:55 AM by tpsbmam
Bush Years.'

Jamie Radtke, the leader of the Virginia Tea Party Patriots who recently announced she will run for U.S. Senate in the state's 2012 match-up, delivered a blow to the Republican party when she spoke at the first Senate Tea Party Caucus meeting, according to the National Journal.

"The Tea Party movement would not exist today if the Republicans had not failed under the Bush years," she said, adding that if elected in the next election cycle she would join the political affinity group recently established by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.).

The Wall Street Journal reported last month:

In an interview, Ms. Radtke said she decided to run after watching Congress pass legislation during this month's lame duck session, including a package of tax cuts, that added to the national debt.

"It has become clear that many in Congress still don't get it," she said. "The tax bill did nothing to cut the huge debt burden on all of us."

1. I wasn't aware that Republicans had failed under Bush; they got precisely what
they wanted for eight years.

4. Read their comments as
Republican brand name failed. They got what they wanted, it turned the American people off, they rebranded to sell the same * to the same people. They failed in the sense their brand name failed. Clearly people are still buying their *. A sucker is born every minute. You'd think the fact most tea party politicians are just warmed over leftover Republicans would be a clue to these people it's the same * different package. But some people want to believe.

12. Bingo!
Well said.

After the Bush presidency ending on such low ratings and the McCain campaign failing so miserably, not even a "New and Improved" label would have helped the GOP brand. Their only option was to market the same old wine in new bottles.

2. is there a light bulb beginning to flicker on?
the GOP lies to get your vote, teabagger. they have no intention of doing what you want, as it would remove their ability to string you along for another election cycle. abotion, deficits, immigration - it's all just exploitation.

start looking to the far left of the democratic party for common cause - and have the teabags to embrace deep defense cuts.

14. Did you read conservative forums and blogs back then?
They actually didn't like Bush. They considered him a spineless sell-out who compromised too often and didn't fight for his principles. Sound familiar?

15. Tea party would not exist is it were not a wholly owned subsidiary of the Koch family
The silent majority, family values, right to lifers are still a small vocal minority that have been manipulated by the likes of the Koch family, Limpballs, and Murdock empire all their lives. They never get what they want because they only elect people who work for the ubber wealthy.

16. Failed to criminalize abortion, failed to jail all the undocumented, failed to end SS, failed
to stop healthcare, failed to make permanent the tax cuts to the rich. They don't care about the deficit--to them it's just an abstract word, useful to make Democrats heel.
