1. Satellite connections should still work.



As long as there is not a land based relay station between the user and the satellite.

3. Some people are digging out their old dial-up modems and connecting to the internet by dialing out
to ISPs in other countries. It's not mobile, of course, but it still makes some communication possible.

5. I wonder how dependent Egypt's economy and infrastructure is on the internet.
The current government is damned if they do and damned if they don't.

If they leave it up, the protesters can coordinate. If they take it down, society and the economy suffers. Either way it's pressure on the government. Pressure that they can't hold up against forever.
