While the San Francisco Zoo has many claims to fame – take the dining lemurs or the gay penguins for example – the one event that will overshadow all the great things that happen at the zoo is the 2007 Christmas Day tiger attack that ended with 17-year-old Carlos Sousa Jr. mauled to death and a tiger fatally shot by police.
As if such an event were not already impossible to forget, it doesn’t help that visitors who now visit the zoo are greeted by two 26-foot-long tiger sculptures at the front gate.
“Two 26-foot tigers will be greeting visitors to the San Francisco Zoo through February 28th, 2011!” reads a press release from Trinity Eight PR, which is handling publicity for the sculptures ...

Two giant Digital Origami Tigers from Australia are on a USA tour as part of G'Day USA.
The Digital Origami Tigers will be centre stage at the San Francisco Zoo from the 17 January to 12 February 2011. They will then charge off to Dallas, Chicago, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
The big cats have been on a World Wildlife Fund global tour to raise awareness about the endangered status of tigers. Less than 3200 tigers remain in the wild ...
