What's being very seriously proposed--and, IMHO, I think it maintains more than ample "spinnability" to make it through to actual legislation that our president will support--is, for all intents and purposes, relinquishing Fannie Mae's and Freddie Mac's roles (i.e.: the GSE's, or government-sponsored entities' roles) in the housing industry to Wall Street, while permanently backstopping the too-big-to-fail banks in much the same manner that our government has funded and supported the GSE's up until now. IMHO,
if it becomes the law of the land, it would be the ultimate privatization of profits and socialization of losses for our nation's status quo, and virtually insure the ongoing domination of our society by Wall Street, perhaps, for many generations to come..............
