"Once Obama throws a poverty program in the water, it starts a feeding frenzy"
"It's just a cruel proposal," Wolfe said. "What this would do is take some of the most vulnerable families in the country off energy assistance."

Obama's Big Budget Cut Proposals Target The Poor
by Arthur Delaney

The White House declined to address these concerns on the record, though a source noted that energy prices are lower now than when Congress increased LIHEAP funding for 2009.

...David Bradley, director of the National Community Action Foundation, that works with Congress and local governments on behalf of programs for low-income people, said he was surprised that the president, a former community organizer, would go after programs that represent such a tiny part of the massive federal budget.

"The question is why? Why pick on this program? It makes a statement, particularly when you're able to say, 'Here's a program I really care about,'" Bradley said. "Once the Obama administration throws a poverty program in the water, it starts a feeding frenzy."

Bradley said the the White House has thrown chum into the waters swirling around the budget-cut debate. He said the Obama administration's move simply emboldened Republicans to propose even deeper cuts to the same programs.

1. The richest nation in the history of the world insists on consuming the poor and middle class to go.
War and feudalism are no bases for an economy or a nation.

4. Or, as Richard Farina put it:
"It was the red, white and blue making war on the poor.
Blind mother justice, on a pile of manure."

(from "House Un-American Blues Activity Dream")

3. Reverse Psychology Maybe?........
Everything that Obama is for the Repugs are against. So if he wants to cut this program the Repugs will fight against him to do it. (sarcasm)

But, see, he isn't. Ideologically, Obama is 'one of them'. And I am done with him.

11. Or the homeless! In the name of Mitch Snyder, we need to erase Reagan from Obama's mindset!!
Because Obama is not displaying rational attitudes toward the populace that put him in office to begin with!!!

Reagan sucked!!!!!
And I think Obama was too damn young to remember the damage that Reagan wrought upon this country.
Obama was only 24 years old when Reagan left office.
He didn't have to deal with Reagan for the entire 8 years Reagan was President as an adult trying to start a family after Carter was rejected by the boneheads in this country!!!

Not according to the EIA they're not! http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/oog/info/hopu/hopu.asp

Monthly avg for heating oil: Jan'09: 2.406, Jan'11: 3.431
propane: Jan'09: 2.313, Jan'11: 2.782

Doesn't look lower to me! Shocking the government would lie :sarcasm:

19. The souls of members of the administration and individual Congress-critters
can be measured directly imo by the tax schemes and budget they try to thrust upon the people: I shan't invoke the Almighty to have mercy on their individual or collective souls when/where ever their actions promote the welfare of large corporations and the wealthy to the detriment of the we the people (the general welfare). :patriot:
