Senator Sanders: Will you please run for President?
I heard him tonight on the Lehrer Newshour, and he was fantastic.

Even old right-wing Judy Woodruff couldn't slow him down, or divert him from what he had to say.

He absolutely nailed the administration and the Republicans for what they're doing to the country, the poor, the disappearing middle class, the children...

He spoke strongly and had his facts all perfectly lined up.

I could not have been more impressed.

Damn.

2. I'd vote for Bernie in a New York minute.
But he's an independent. He might split the vote and get a Republican elected.

Our politics is sure screwed up by this two-party system.

Love Bernie.

6. I hear that; splitting the vote would not be a good thing...
But oh I love how he thinks.

10. IMO things would be a lot better with a third party. One just knows that with only two parties
there is aways going to be a PO contest about something back and forth, but a third party in the mix breaks that up IMO

11. IBTL, he's a socialist, BUT- it takes a socialist to act like a Democrat
Just like an investigative journalist named Pallast has to go to England to be an investigative journalist. There's a void in here.

24. Here's what Wikipedia says about his political affiliation:
Sanders is a self-described democratic socialist,<1><2> and has praised European social democracy. He is the first person elected to the U.S. Senate to identify as a socialist.<3> Sanders caucuses with the Democratic Party and is counted as a Democrat for the purposes of committee assignments, but because he does not belong to a formal political party, he appears as an independent on the ballot. He was also the only independent member of the House during much of his service there. He is one of two independent Senators in the 111th Congress, along with Joe Lieberman.

And as to why they're not plastered all over?

Why, it's because our liberal media just won't do it.

15. He's doing what
every member of the Democratic caucus should be doing, forcefully countering the GOP talking points.

It doesn't matter that he mentions the administration in the process because the media and everyone are trying to align the administration with the GOP to give the impression that everyone agrees with their lunacy.

Senator Reid just made a great statement on Social Security.

I don't know if you saw my post about this earlier...but this is interesting:

February 14, 2011
As the nation struggles to recover from the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, millions of people from across the country struggle with real economic challenges every day. Sen. Sanders asked people to send him their stories of the Great Recession.

Bernie recently asked Vermonters to share their personal stories - explaining how the recession, which started more than three years ago, has impacted their lives. More than 400 people responded. You will find more than 50 of their stories in "Struggling through the Recession: Letters from Vermont," which was published online Monday.
"While the stories are often painful and difficult to read," Bernie said, "it's important that we appreciate and understand what some of our friends and neighbors are going through."

I ♥ Bernie

And as for the Socialist "label" I don't care. I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.

If so, copy and past mine, and then see what the symbols are when you go into preview...?

If you are on a PC is should work. Just hold the alt key down then hit the number 3 key while you hold it. On the number keypad by the way...not the other numbers. ♥
