I'm too close to this to judge. Does the rest of the world "get" what's happening in Cheddarland?

Are you only hearing about Madison, or about the demonstrations and other actions across the state? Do you hear about Appleton, Platteville, Rice Lake, Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Oshkosh? Did you hear about the faculty at UW-LaCrosse working to unionize themselves in Walker's face today?

3. Sparta, and La Crosse high school students all went out....
but you're right they're only covering Madison, which is all right by me. Any coverage is good coverage......

16. And many more. I have lost track.
Faculty at UW-River Falls & UW-Stout are also about to emulate UW-LaCrosse. I think the state will end up essentially shutting down for a while. We'll see what Walker does about that.

2. The media, little that there is,
is concentrating on Madison.

Hell, today I woke up a kid to the fact that we are having these things happening. She don't know 'bout this. I explained the stakes...

So be happy if people realize it is happening, not the localities.

For the record, this is spreading to OTHER states now. OH and Indiana.

4. Madison was the only place I'd heard. I'm DELIGHTED
that it's spreading. Here's hoping it's big enough to FORCE CorpoMedia© to cover it.

8. It's not "spreading." It's all happening in parallel.
Busloads of activists from every corner of the state headed for Mad City, & the ones who couldn't go are protesting wherever they are.

I have a break here in Michigan, Friday and Monday off, so tell me where to go to march. I'm only a couple of hours away. To answer your question, no there is not enough info and if you know about a website that is organizing please post it. We can win if we stick together and help each other. I'm here for you.

11. You may as well go to Madison in that case.
That's where the largest demonstrations are, it's the place the media are watching.

In California, I am cheering all of you standing up for worker's rights. Other governors are watching what is happening. This is a key moment in U.S. history, in my opinion.

20. I've been doing that.
I just posted pics of a demonstration this aft. in Chippewa Falls. This was after, and completely separate from, 500 kids walking out of the high school this morning in support of their teachers.

Rice Lake, a small town of 5000, had 500 demonstrators out yesterday.

25. Thanks, J.R. I agree with Ed Shultz, who just said that
this is the most important story going for Americans. We're at a turning point, and we could basically end any semblance of democracy we have.

29. Kids walked out of schools all across the Milwaukee metro area today.
I saw several schools with large groups of kids out on the sidewalk, in the city and the suburbs.

Don't say that around my kid. She's already hacked off at the teabaggers who are slamming her school on a news site for walking out.

 Welcome to politics, kiddo!

21. Hell yes.
As a matter of fact, Ed Garvey, a longtime WI progressive and the main force behind Fighting Bob Fest (Google it), was the players' union lawyer for years. And of course the Pack is the only community-owned team in professional sports.

18. The rest of the world probably figures we have it coming to us.
They probably look at who and how we elect our leaders and say, "WTF did you THINK was gonna happen?"
Then they have to hope we get things straightened out without tearing the whole country apart.

27. Billy Bragg just posted about it today on his FB page.
He's in the UK, and posted in solidarity. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=153395551345077#!/permalink.php?story_fbid=127163960690568&id=44905697470 I thought that was pretty cool. I've been following the news in CA, and hearing about the other actions too. It's as exciting as Egypt was as far as I'm concerned.
