Allen West accuses colleagues in House of "ignorance, belligerence, and dishonest rhetoric."
This is one very angry man, very touchy, always indignant at someone, and very full of belligerence himself. I have noticed though that he appears to be becoming a hero to the right wing, to the point he is being thought of for president.

From Fox News Nation:

Disgusted Allen West to Dems: Grow Up!

Picture is from Reuters via Fox News

Rookie U.S. Rep. Allen West delivered a stinging indictment of his colleagues in a letter to constituents in which he rails about House members' "ignorance, belligerence, and dishonest rhetoric." Without naming names, but clearly implying that he was including President Barack Obama, the Florida Republican also decried Washington's interference with Wisconsin's budget turmoil. The text of the letter to residents of Florida's 22nd District:

"Over this past week I have watched and listened to members of the House of Representatives from across the aisle.

"I am appalled at their ignorance, belligerence, and dishonest rhetoric filled with empty emotional platitudes.

There is a longer article at News Max which is linked from Fox. I don't want to link there.

A Florida blog points out that West is already being mentioned as a candidate for 2012. Scary stuff.

Allen West For President? It's Starting.

Yes, the buzz is already starting up in some of the farthest reaching corners of America's right wing that Allen West should be our next president. There's now a website devoted to the idea and a blog called American Thinker had a post about West yesterday titled "America's Next Black President" that opined:

"On the horizon, the 'dawn of a new America' approaches and with it comes a uniqe opportunity to replace America's first black president with a man who, secondary to being a patriotic American, just happens to be black."

And here's another Republican blog that promotes West as an "intelligent and rational antidote to Ron Paul" after the CPAC straw poll showed Paul as the most popular choice for the 2012 nomination.

Of course this is all silly talk. West is way too radical to ever get any traction in a presidential run. Right?

Right, just like Rick Scott was way too radical to beat a centrist soft-spoken Democrat like Alex Sink.

Never underestimate the power of the Florida electorate.

Not only are they considering Allen West as a hero, there is already talk of Rick Scott running for president as well.

West is a very angry, hateful, arrogant, rude little man.

15. More from his letter about the "abject hostility of the unionized entitlement class"
About Wisconsin...

"“Also troubling are the events in the state of Wisconsin which mirror those that happened in Greece several months ago. We are witnessing the abject hostility of a unionized entitlement class that is being lauded by the liberal left, seemingly to include our President.

“It is such a critical time for our Republic, yet there seems no visionary leadership — it is as if America stopped producing adults. I have never seen a greater assembly of petulance and sophomoric behavior as what I have witnessed this week on the floor of the House of Representatives.'

That is from the letter at the News Max link that is shown at the Fox Link.

http://nation.foxnews.com/politics/2011/02/18/disgusted-allen-west-dems-grow

Now that is purely insulting. It is rude and hostile and ignorant.

42. no examples
I had to follow some of the links to see if he gave any examples of the ignorance displayed by his House colleagues. nope. so one can only conclude that they voiced opinions different from his own and maybe even facts that didn't confirm his fantasy world view.

I strongly suspect this person is someone who has drunk the RW Fox/Beck kool aid for so long and absorbed it so deeply throughout every iota of his consciousness that any exposure to contrary ideas makes his head explode.

this is a phenomenon I have witnessed countless times in any discussion with any winger, as i'm sure many here on DU can attest.

the comments on those links in response to his aimless non-specific and hate filled rant are even scarier...to paraphrase, simply endless variations on: "yes, yes, what he said. he's so right. fine man. make a great president..."

A clown that was a terrible Artillery officer, bent on torture and using nothing but fear in keeping his battalion in order. The man is a pig.

Biggest claim to fame is being relieved of command after discharging a weapon near the head of an alleged terrorist. He's nuts and should never have been elected.

How this disgraced officer ever made it is beyond me.

And fear is a wrong way to do things, you educate, and if they don't learn, you just correct the problem, no reason to scare people, although it can be educational to others for it to be seen. See post about justice needing to be seen. So that when things get corrected the why is known by many, and then people can have more confidence of there being justice in society.

Maybe he was due beer and travel money, and knew how to make that known without it being corrected. So in a rules applied back fashion, he could collect interest non stop on many people connected to that debt.

Then again, maybe the whole concept of the training for occupation wars did not have enough concepts of proper action in them, or maybe from the top, the lack of concern on issues of torture filtered down to troops, that happens alot.

37. Same thing happens with religious zealots...
Edited on Sun Feb-20-11 08:31 AM by rasputin1952
rarely does one hear about the peace, trust, love, forgiveness, empathy that virtually every major religion offers...instead, it seems to be all about scaring people into converting. It's all about avoiding a garishly described hell of some sort, the messages that are positive are tossed to the side.

One can lead sheep by scaring them half to death, but eventually they get drained, and have to rest...and then often think. The last thing most religious leaders want is for their flocks to think...they lose all control.

Totalitarians like West know this, and use it to their advantage. West believes he is on some kind of "divine mission". when in reality it is "all about West", and how he can dominate others. He's a pig.

Edit: typo

Those that want control are the worst to be in control.

I understand 'tough love' and letting society go to the shitter might be part of that, I don't know, I don't do the tough love thing.

There may be a tough love rules applied back occurring with some of the bad stuff going on. Don't know about that.

I am however due beer and travel money, and many experiences.

What I would spend it on is not the relevant part, that is a place holder, those that think they can decide how I spend it, don't understand anyways.

If there was some condition on how it was spent, that would not be paying of a debt. That would be strings or deals.
