I want my fucking planet back!!!!
I'm sitting here watching the house repukes gut the EPA tonight, specifically between the hours of 1:30am and 2:30 am ET (I figure they are up, I'm up, might as well watch them).

Just of few of the piece of shit Amendments:

House votes to bar EPA from regulating discharge into wetlands. - like anyone cares any way, ask the gulf coast

House votes to block for NOAA to research climate change.- nothing to see here, please move along

House votes to prohibit funds 4 implementing, administering or enforcing EPA regs on surface coal mining. - FU Kentucky, Wyoming and any other place they will rip the earth apart to make $$

House votes to prohibit the use of funds by EPA to develop, propose, finalize, implement, administer, or enforce any regulation that identifies or lists fossil fuel combustion waste as hazardous waste subject to regulation. - I'm speachless

House votes DOWN to prohibit the use of Federal Funds to desingate national monuments. - Oh the fuckers defeated that one, it might prevent them from putting Ronny Raygun at Mt. Rushmore.

Hose votes to let industry do whatever the fuck they want to our air and water. - Seriously, could have done the whole thing in 1 minute with one sweaping amendment.

And all this shit in the middle of the night when no one is watching....time to go have a big fat shot of fuck-it-all, I can't watch them gut funding to enforce labor laws.

The tea party wanted their country back, I want my fucking planet back.

Susan

1. These things still have to pass in the Senate
...and then actually be signed into law by the president.

4. I know, I'm not stupid
Edited on Sat Feb-19-11 03:16 AM by susanwy
it just makes my blood boil that people in this country have no clue what they voted for when they put the tea baggers in a position of power. And trust me, maybe not all of this, maybe not these specific amendments, but stuff that will just be a shit storm for the environement will pass, sneaked in the budget by the sneaky rat bastards in charge.....(among other hidden gems).

(not being cranky to you ... just in general)

Susan

5. I would wager they'll need proof that no one is this stupid.
Judging from election results, there sure do seem to be a lot of stupid motherfuckers on this planet. :(

More of the NIMBY-NMFP types.

11. What you are upset about is more closely related to over-population than anything else.
All we can do is bandage the symptoms.

I want my planet back too. I've been wanting it back since 1970. That's a long time to be upset about lost spaces and beauty. The best and cleanest were the first to be polluted.

And as population goes up, politics will get worse. Mark my words.
