Well, now the Farmers Unions are at the protest in Wisconsin
Because of the section of the bill that would put Badgercare under Walkers exclusive control - they know he'll kill it and farmers overwhelmingly use it because of low incomes and no employer based insurance. Just as I had hoped other Unions are getting involved.

5. Indeed they are.
They have faults to be sure, as does any other human endeavor, however workers need solidarity!

And let's be clear... Puns are Good Things! Let us not belittle Puns .......:hi:

9. My sister married into a dynamic Swedish-American family.
It's been a real joy to get to know them over the years and learn to appreciate the way they do things (and cook, of course). Very positive, hard-working, composed and stubborn-as-nails.

6. The farmer is the man who feeds them all...
Edited on Sat Feb-19-11 02:36 PM by LiberalEsto
"The Farmer is the Man

Oh the farmer comes to town
With his wagon broken down,
Oh the farmer is the man who feeds us all;
If we'd only look and see, well I think that we'd agree
That the farmer is the man who feeds us all.
The farmer is the man,
The farmer is the man.
Lives on credit 'til the fall,
Then they take him by the hand,
And they lead him from the land,
And the middleman's the one who gets it all..."

This is a Great Plains folksong dating from the Populist Movement of the 1890s when it first appeared in the "Farmers Alliance" songbook. The original words and music, which have since been revised, were by Knowles Shaw, 1834-1878.

14. Amateur country gardener here.
Haven't been able to raise a lot of food. Seems like every year, the results are different due to the weather and other variables.

16. Swedish-American farmer power! Right on!
The last of the farmers on the Swedish side of my family passed away at almost 90 years in September.

He and the others are hardworking and stubborn, absolutely, but they are also the nicest, helpful people around.

Gov. Walker is in a lot of trouble.

The karmic adjustment of such an action can't possibly be a pleasant one.

21. These 4 groups are the foundation of this country
Not the bankers and their fake papers, not the computer companies who outsource American jobs. Without these pillars and others the American way of life simply doesn't exist. I would also add the nurses so a pillar of . Don't gt me wrong there are many other important groups that impact our society and make it work but these groups mentioned above are critical.

The Republicans are intent on destroying all of these groups so private corporations can come in and make a profit and pay pennies to workers.
