This energy, this movement, this revolt --
-- this is the energy Barack Obama tapped into in 2008 and for whatever reason -- pragmatism, bipartisanship, dealing with a different emergency daily -- he let lie dormant. (I want to say turned his back on, but that seems inflammatory and I'm not wearing my flame-retardant undies.) If Obama were not the man he is, i.e., the calm, no drama, cool, rational, centrist/pragmatist, maybe he would have really taken hold and grabbed the moment and we would really have a new New Deal in place already. As it is, we have Speaker Boehner and efforts to outlaw abortion and cuts on LIHEAP and an oncoming government shutdown...

Just trying to make sense of it all. Not having any luck.

1. FDR Himself Couldn't Have Gotten Much of Anything Through THESE Lockstep Repiglickins
There would have been no New Deal.
