Wisconsin State Rep. Gordon Hintz (D) was arrested Feb. 10, accused of sexual misconduct -- a violation of a City of Appleton ordinance. The charge comes in connection with a massage parlor investigation.

The 37-year-old lawmaker says he is willing to take responsibility for his actions after the citation came to light, according to a report by the Chicago Tribune. Hintz e-mailed a statement to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, in which he writes "I am willing to take responsibility for my actions," but going on to say that his "personal situation is distracting from the much more important issue facing the state."

According to Appleton police, the citation was issued in conjunction with an ongoing investigation into Heavenly Touch Massage Parlor.

Rather than admit a simple mistake and correct it, he engaged in a comical defense, claiming I was wrong. Except, I am not wrong. And, I wasn't offended by a simple mistake. What I find offensive is the trivialization of the mistake after the fact.

Why does the GOP have to do anything to demonize us when, intentionally or not, we do their work for them? If you want to deny this is important, that is your right. It's also shortsighted.

when they incorrectly use a noun where an adjective belongs. Whatever their intentions are they appear to have failed, as most people simply attribute their misuse of the word to ignorance, much like their spelling mistakes.

Whenever I am talking to rightwingers I simply correct their grammar and suggest they learn how to spell also. This puts them in a position of having to 'explain'. So far, this has worked by putting them on the defensive. If they are trying to make a point but no one sees it it is not a very effective strategy.

Democrats should never allow themselves to be on the defensive. If someone attacks you with a stick, instead of running away, you grab the stick and turn it on them, then it is THEY who are on the defensive. That is what I do to rightwingers who think the use of the words 'democrat party' is some kind of weapon. Simple take it out of their hands and force them into a position of trying to defend it.

I don't worry too much about the right other than to remove their Reps from office. I just don't waste time on trivia, or their silly games which are all done to divert attention away from far more important issues, as in this case.

The issue here is that a Democrat went after them very successfully and the more Democrats who do that, the more they will whine and squirm and act like the cowards they are.

When someone tries to insult you, but you are immune, that is very frustrating to them. Democrats always reacting to these things gives them power. They want to 'get to' democrats. Don't let them do it, accuse them of being unable to spell or use nouns and adjectives correctly.

As Shakespeare said 'a rose by any other name would smell as sweet'. Just turn it on them and after a while they will be afraid to show their ignorance and simply avoid using that particular insult. It works.

by playing their silly games. I keep my focus on what they are doing to this country and at the bottom of that list are the names they call people. That is simply childish and not deserving of the time and space given to it by fearful democrats. Democrats need to be fearless, not shaking and frightened by silly, schoolyard games. As I said, this issue is easily handled if done properly.

Far more important is their attempt to undermine this democracy with legislation such as the Patriot Act and the MIC bills that should never have passed in a Democratic nation. But since they have, they need now to be rescinded as quickly as possible, no matter how many scare tactics about 'terra' the anti-Constitutional Republicans try to use. They need to be confronted about their anti-Constitutional laws, forcefully and often. We do not need and should never, 'compromise' away our rights. But all too often our own party has aided and abetted these thugs, 12 Democratic Senators eg, voting along with them to elimate Habeas Corpus. That was shameful.

I'm busy with these issues, which they were prefer we ignore while we beg them not to call us names. I don't care what names they call us, I care what legislation they are passing while everyone is busy with the trivia they conjure up.
