Ok I finally got through to my older bro in Libya.

up to this date 27/02/11 Sirt, Sebha, Tripoli and unconfirmed but also Kufra are still not liberated.
Aid has been getting through from Egypt, other countries like Qatar.

as well as reports of foreign mercenaries there were also Libyan mercenaries. The confirmed minimum death toll in Benghazi is 800+ alone and national is 2,0000 + considering those figures there are many unaccounted for missing, and the solders who refused to fight were cremated and many are also unaccounted for, so the death toll could easily be double. there has been massacres in Zawiya and other cities in the west. One of our neighbours have been missing for 3 days then found in a fridge of the hospital who was unaccounted for. My brother has confirmed that Gaddafi has used chemical weapons. Right now there no more mercenaries from the Egyptian border to Ajdabiya. However there are gangs of them roaming around the countryside’s.

The food shortage has been sorted out there in the east at least with aid coming from Egypt, however communications are still poor, there is no Internet connection and the phones don’t always connect. There have been confirmed reports that the people have confiscated police and military vehicles as soon as they got a chance. One of my relatives has been a part of these operations.

(Reuters) - The son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi denied in a U.S. television interview that turmoil was sweeping the country and said the military did not use force against the people, despite reports to the contrary.

There was a "big, big gap between reality and the media reports," Gaddafi's son, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, told ABC News' "This Week" television program. "The whole south is calm. The west is calm. The middle is calm. Even part of the east."

His assessment came despite media reports of more gains by anti-Gaddafi forces with the latest coming from the city of Zawiyah, only 30 miles west of the Libyan capital of Tripoli.

Saif Gaddafi also denied allegations that the military was targeting Libyan citizens.

"Show me a single attack, show me a single bomb," he said in the interview. "The Libyan air force destroyed just the ammunition sites. That's it."

For the Emir of Qatar, Palestine is a central issue. A big part of his FIGHT with Mubarak was over injustice to Palestine and what perpetuating that injustice did to the region. There are so many human aspects of solidarity and rage against injustice to what's going on now. All the western analyses in the papers are still in denial.

I really hope Israel does the smart thing here and opens Palestine itself. They're scrambling to patch Hamas and Fatah together now but that won't do it. Free Palestine. Apologize. Throw tons of money at them and free it now. The people's anger towards that injustice, now compounded by what Libya just went through, can't be erased.

The Royal family and Deputy Prime Minister Maxime Verhagen bring a State visit to Oman from 6 to 8 March, writes The Telegraph. A delegation from the business goes to the Arab country. The head of State will visit on 7 March Sohar.

The travel advice for Oman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads 'Alert behave ', given the turmoil in the country and the increased terrorist threat

There have been fears that Gaddafi, who has said he will fight to the death, could use chemical weapons in a last ditch attempt to cling to power. British Foreign Secretary William Hague said on Sunday Libya appeared to have stocks of mustard gas, although it was not clear what condition they were in.

Libya joined OPCW in 2004 and committed itself to destroying all its chemical weapons and the capacity to produce them by April 29, 2007.

Disputes ensued between Tripoli and Washington over funding for the internationally-financed programme and in 2007 Libya informed the United States it planned to back out of its promise to destroy its mustard gas stocks.

The OPCW later granted Libya an extension until May 2011 to destroy the rest of its mustard gas stocks.
