We have owed for several years so we put it off but finally did it and we are getting a REFUND this year!!!!! Not a huge one but enough to pay off a credit card.

1. Oh yes and thanks to POTUS and Congress ...
... the $1500 credit I would have gotten in 2010 if I'd have been able to AFFORD a new furnace (which I need since mine is leaking carbon monoxide into my house) but couldn't get financing for because the credit markets are now so tight, will instead be a whopping $150 tax credit in 2011 now that I've gotten a part time job (in addition to my full time job) in order to pay for the thing.

Thanks. For nothing. :spank:

10. I financed a new one, 12 months, same as cash ...
It died last April.

We replaced it at about a total coast of 6k.

I had shopped around ... one company was doing the 12 month, same as cash deal. I used the 12 months to budget the total costs. The local electric company included an additional $300 discount.

I just paid it off, and I'll get the tax credit.

6. Just e-filed...
I'll be getting a somewhat larger-than-normal refund this year; I bought a fuel-efficient car a year ago, which got me a $1300 credit.

8. I know it is not really a refund, but after having to owe for so long it is cool
I used to teach summer school but haven't for a couple years due to my health. That was our vacation (cruise) money.

Maybe with this jumpstart, we will be able to knock out some bills, remodel our bathrooms and then get back to cruising. :)
