Space shuttle Discovery cleared for final approach.
Edited on Wed Mar-09-11 11:44 AM by lpbk2713

With special emphasis on "final" for Discovery.

I'm near the landing path in Lakeland. Some times I have seen them come down.
I'm sure I'll hear the sonic boom as it decelerates near me.

11:40 am --- approaching the western coast of Central America.

11:44 am --- off the west end of Cuba now.

4. Touchdown.

I heard the boom but couldn't see it due to too many clouds.

Well done Discovery.

6. Nice Pic of Last Flight

The space shuttle Discovery is seen from the International Space Station as the two orbital spacecraft accomplish their relative separation on March 7. During a post undocking fly-around, the crew of each vessel photographed the opposing craft.
