This is a request that I have received....
Max Low is a 12 year old from Neola, Iowa. He has been battling cancer for half of his life. His doctors recently told his parents to enjoy the time they have left with him. His wish is to get 1 million cards. He has currently gotten 23,000. I can't count the number of Craig Shergold appeals I have gotten over the years, long after he had begged people to no longer send him stuff. And as the Snopes.com article says, there are many copy cat versions of it. So my instinct at this point is to check them and if I can't find an article in a reputable news source, ignore them.
