Exclusive: Gadhafi, Allies May Be Seeking Way Out, Clinton tells ABC News
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/hillary-clinton-diane-sawyer-moammar-gadhafi-allies-seeking/story?id=13196414

People close to Libya's embattled leader Moammar Gadhafi are reaching out to allies around the world exploring their "options," Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told ABC News' Diane Sawyer today, and the U.S. government has gotten unconfirmed reports that at least one of Gadhafi's sons has been killed.

"We've heard about other people close to him reaching out to people that they know around the world -- Africa, the Middle East, Europe, North America, beyond -- saying what do we do? How do we get out of this? What happens next?" Clinton said in an exclusive interview. "I'm not aware that he personally has reached out, but I do know that people allegedly on his behalf have been reaching out."

And he knows that he could be in for some serious crimes against humanity.

3. True, or wishful thinking, or narrative-setting - who knows?
The US government propaganda specialists are working overtime - that's for sure. As well they should. Any government waging war has to wage propaganda war as well.

The US has resisted calls for multilateral ceasefire in Libya, with UN observers on the ground. It is clear that the policy is US-enforced "regime change." What's there to negotiate?

10. Two weeks ago I had an intuitive flash of Gadhafi in handcuffs
I'm inclined to agree with you - it will be over soon. And I suspect he will end up 'arrested' by some group - either his own people, or the international community. Or maybe a US prison like Hussein and Noriega?

14. Not him - the people around him.
Think back to Mubarak (when he didn't voluntarily step aside, the Egyptian Army pushed him aside).

12. He doesn't have many friends left. At one time or another he's taken a poke at most of them.
For example, not that they would be friends or anything, but Saudi Arabia believes he was behind an attempted assassination of Crown Prince Abdullah in a plot intercepted in 2004. Can't go there, like many monsters before him have done. Can't go to a close Saudi ally either probably. Poor, poor Muammar. If only you hadn't tried to kill so many people.
