Pretty funny video from Japan about nuclear disaster, made for kids
It's subtitled for those of us who don't speak Japanese. I thought it was a pretty ingenious way to explain the crisis to children, but I still found it kind of hilarious just the same. Thought you guys might like seeing it.

1. I couldn't imagine how...
... there could be a funny video about the nuclear disaster, but it is.

4. Yeah, it's a dangerous situation - but I can kind of understand why they
would want the kids to be less scared. I think that there must be a human impulse to want to protect kids from the harsh truth. I can remember my Mom lying about the fever I had when I was 8 (over 105 and I was hallucinating) because she could see I was already scared that I was too weak to get out of bed and I think she didn't want me to be more scared and worried so she lied to me. She said, "Oh, it's 101 today but I think we might go ahead and go to the doctor today..." All I can say is thank God for antibiotics because at that point the strep throat was winning in the war between bacteria and my body, LOL.

5. I agree- but assuming it was intended for children I think it helped them understand...
...quite a bit more than they normally would. I was impressed with the level of detail they covered to at least help the children understand (partly) what they might be hearing around them on the news or from adults talking.

6. Bee-yoo-ti-full use of analogies and amazingly accurate.
I'll add one more. If Nuclear Boy had been allowed to "fart" early and often, he'd be in a lot better shape today.

This really is a pretty good entry level explanation of the situation. Sadly many of those who might benefit, will simply dismiss it as trivialisation.
