Would you say the UK government follows the teachings of Jeremy Bentham?

Bentham was a proponent of what many call "the nanny state"

That is, cameras everywhere, always watching you. His thought was that this would reduce crime to nothing.

He had a lot of good and bad ideas - but the nanny state idea, that a state gives healthcare to its citizens, but then also mandates that the citizens live healthy lives so that there is enough healthcare for everyone.

1. Bentham is an interesting character in history(ethics)...

He also felt that people should not be buried when they died, but instead be stuffed and kept around the house as ornaments. He himself was stuffed, got a wax head, and is still in a display case at University College, London.(1748-1832) Both he and John Stuart Mill(1806-1873)were radical empiricists.
