One simple act of activism.
Here's what I posted today on the jsonlie.com blogs. Please try to do something today to help America be better informed!

Dear China,

Can we please borrow another couple hundred billion?

We're spending alot of money on humanitarian aid to Iraq, Afghanistan and now Libya, and we don't have the money to pay for it. All those bombs and missiles are expensive.

We've cut services to our own people until there is no more meat on the bone. So we need credit from you if we're going to continue providing this humanitarian aid.

The grandchildren and great grandchildren of the American people will pay you back, with interest.

Sincerely,

(for the US People)
The US Military - Industrial Complex

2. In this case....
Activism is posting to a blog, one on the "state" newspaper site in my case.

The goal is to raise awareness - the wars have a cost, we're borrowing the money to wage the wars, our grandchildren will be saddled with this debt.

No big deal, takes a minute. But is read by hundreds, even thousands, and maybe makes one or two or three people think about the issues differently.

That's it. Very simple activism.

3. Two types of activism
First is to motivate other people to be an activist

Second type is getting decision makers to make changes in policy.

If you can motivate enough people to get them to actively work on decision makers the job is much easier.
