The government has decided to prohibit people from entering areas within a 20-kilometer radius of the crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant, starting midnight Thursday, government sources said Wednesday.

3. I read somewhere that people were going back in every so often
to take care of animals etc that were left there in the evacuation. They are also going to check on their homes. I don't think the government has much choice put to tell them they cannot go in anymore. Too bad they cannot get the animals out and make the no man's land area bigger.

4. What they need to do with those animals
I won't post. It will really upset people here. But I am sure they will, SOON.

5. We do it to older animals to relieve their suffering all the time. The
animals who have been in that area this long are going to suffer from radiation sickness just like people would have. I said it. Thanks Nadine.

7. Yes, they do. But I don't think it's been much of a priority.
Japanese animal rescue groups have been working tirelessly to save every animal they can. It is never possible to save them all.
