And our player isn't to blame, unless all of our players are to blame.

It wouldn't be so bad if they'd open their whole library up to their streaming service, but that's not the case, as you all know.

Very frustrating and frankly unprofessional. Bad form, NetFlix!

2. I just had my third problem in four years
a disk with a visible scratch.

The rest have been just fine, so much so that I was surprised when this particular disk refused to load. Then I saw the scratch. Oh.

4. Extremely rare. I can't remember the last time it happened, but it's been years.

5. Only happened a few times over
the years and only once that we could not get it to play. Most of the time if it skips, won;t play etc. we have just cleaned it and that fix has only not worked once.
As to getting everything to stream, you'd have to take that up with the movie companies, they control what is allowed.

7. Thank you all for your responses
I suppose that I'm gratified to hear that others have better experiences than mine, but I admit that it's still frustrating. I should have clarified that when I say "unplayable" I don't mean "smudged;" I mean "having deep scratches" or, in once case "actually cracked all the way through."

Maybe the Pittsburgh distribution center is to blame?

Also, while I'm at it, let's have an end to crappy made-for-tv movies popping up on NetFlix as "New Arrivals: Movies." For that matter, let's have a category for "new releases" in addition to "new arrivals," dammit!

8. Frankly, I'm surprised that Netflix still operates this business model.
The streaming model has to be much more profitable. Handling and inventorying huge number of CD's requires a lot more OH to manage. Maybe they're hedging their bets on the continued viability of a streaming model under the present circumstances.

9. Only happened once on the streaming side
so far. I started on Drop Dead Diva and couldn't get Ep 3 to stream. I did report it, but I will have to go back to it to see if they fixed it.

SO and his roomate have had the mail service for years and as far as I know have never had a problem. They have DVD players, Blu Ray and HD players. But they don't watch a lot of "family" movies.

10. I've had one problem
The trailers played fine, but the movie wouldn't. Sent it back and got another disk. Same thing happened. It must have been some coding in the movie. As it happens, it streamed and I was able to watch it anyway.

12. That has happened to me, rarely, but it does happen
I simply report it & another disk of the same movie/show is sent out. Yes, it's a PITA, but these things do happen.

13. We had it happen with two immediately consecutive copes if City of Lost Children
We couldn't decide whether they'd simply sent us that same copy the second time around or whether viewers are especially hard on that particular film!
