The Last Enemy
It was a BBC production and shown here as part of the Masterpiece Contemporary part of Masterpiece Theater. We really enjoyed this. Very well written and acted with Robert Carlyle and Benedict Cumberpatch (lately Sherlock Holmes).

A man who has been away in China for several years (Cumberpatch) has to return home unexpectedly because he learns his peacekeeper/aid worker brother dies from an IED to his truck in Afghanistan.

The story is about the implementation of T.I.A. Total Information Awareness software and apparatus in Great Britain.

I decided to watch based on your post about it. A very sobering subject - total information awareness. The ending was truly a depressing vision of an Orwellian future. Complete security by turning the country into a hi-tech surveillance prison.
