I base my guess that he was a crapbag on his record prior to his Iraq time. Multiple counselings; psych issues; striking superiors etc.. etc..
Soldiers are an excellent judge of character and if someone is excluded like that there is often (not always) a good reason.
Crap bag.
Edit: He was a crap bag before he became a traitorous piece of shit. Cant forget that he stepped up in rank.
