8. Correct observations, but wrong solutions
What you say about Pat Buchanan reminds me of what some say about Marx. I am no student of political theory, but my impression is that Marx was largely correct in his perceptions of the way things were. His solutions were more controversial than his observations about the way things were. Pat B. is similar. He is right about a lot, but we do not want to put him in charge of solving the problems he accurately describes.
