What's with the "self-declared anarchist" meme?
Why not also self-declared capitalists/conservatives/liberals, self-declared socialists/communists? Self-declared intellectuals?
Well the fact is that there are many "anarchists" who don't call them-selves such, just live and behave so. The Greek anarchists, on the other hand, are well organized with lots of experience and have been extending their struggle for many years. Regardless if they call themselves anarchist or not, as grounding principle of anarchis is that anybody can call themselves what they want without someone above dictating what names to use, if any. In Greece the well organized are called in media "bandana-wearers", which actually is not such a bad description, at least when describing those wearing bandanas, who are at least somewhat organized. Other at least somewhat organized are wearing motorbike helmets and even gas-masks. Teargas hurts worst the least organized who wear nothing. Like bystanders, passers-by, "peacefull demonstrators", so called "innocent people". Who cops are supposed to protect.
Also, it's clear that limits of growth means the end of capitalist state based on ideology of limitless growth. The case on nationalist socialist/communist/fascist state remains open in that respect. I fail to see why anyone would prefere national socialism of any ilk to non-hierarchic freedom of life, but that's just me.
