Imagine my surprise when I happened to pick up the current issue of Family Circle (July 13 issue) and found an extensive article on the draft.

It seemed the author had been reading DU especially the posts of DemsWillWin who has done extensive research on this subject.

Unfortunately the article is not on line.

A few highlights:

The article states that Karl Rove polled Republican members of congress last fall on how they felt about the draft and they said they would support the president.

Ron Paul (R- Texas) states "You don't listen to what they say, you watch what they do" (referring to the Administration's denial of the need for a draft). The Administration says no, but what we've gotten from the Pentagon and elsewhere is yes."

Article quotes Col. David Hackworth about the Pentagon lying about casualties. Says casualties are more than four time higher than stated by the DOD.
