Aristead was democratically elected,yes?

Yet Bush watches as the country is terrorized by armed thugs rampaging through the countryside and instead of helping the democracy quell the rebellion, calls for Aristead to leave the country.

Is it because:

The US can't be the policeman of the world? If so, how do you explain Iraq, Afghanistan, The Caucuses, Asia, Europe?

The US doesn't have any troops left to send to Haiti because they're all in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Caucuses, Asia, Europe?

The US is supporting the rebellion because Aristead is leftist and represents another threat of an "alternate way" (i.e. other than capitalism)?

Has Aristead resisted World Bank and IMF attempts to "help" his country?
