Young or old, we do not know when that day will be. There are a lot of people posting here that are faced with illnesses, disabilities, and life-threatening disease each day of their lives. They understand that death sometimes does not knock kindly on our doors. We pray that none suffer the long days and nights of cruel disease.
It's not about free speech, or Democratic or Republican politics. Our lives and deaths should not be so trivialized. It's about life. It's about happiness. It's about leaving this world a better place than when we arrived. What we do in life echoes in eternity.
To dishonor the dead is to dishonor ourselves. For we do not know what tomorrow may bring. We do not know for whom the bells may toll. We do not have to sing the praises of those whom we disliked, but neither do we need to blaspheme our own existence. Because we are not separate from the humanity of man but a part that still clings like an apple to a tree, waiting for the long fall to the ground.
