It is not generally civil to say "We're cool, support us" by urinating on people who could become your ally because their philosophy is otherwise similar to your own...
Of course, if their philosophy is radically different, such as a certain political party whose logo is an animal that requires a big shovel to go behind it... that's another story. :D
