A Blu-ray that I would recommend is "Home" narrated by Glenn Close: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1014762/

Another good one is "Baraka": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103767/

Trust me, you will see a difference. The picture will be stunningly clear, more so than on any regular dvd. Notice the credits at the end of a Blu-ray dvd because those white letter on the black background is perfectly clear like it was painted on your screen.

Your old dvds will look at least as good if not better. Look for Blu-ray dvds on sale because they can be had for a good price, check out Amazon as well.

One way I enjoy Blu-rays is by having a NetFlix subscription for Blu-Ray for $10.95 a month and with that I can get 3 dvds a week in the mail as well as having access to thousands of hours of NetFlix streaming movies and documentaries and tv series. I use a Roku set top box to watch the streaming videos on my 50" plasma and they look every bit as good as a regular dvd. I have been watching season after season of Law and Order: SVU as well as L&O: Criminal Intent.
