8. The vibe is very different --
kind of lifeless, if you ask me. :shrug: I think so many long-time folks have walked (been booted) away from the new version for a variety of reasons, and it is really showing. There hasn't been anything happening externally to really "jell" the new place (Katrina, Bush, the Gulf) -- that is made worse by it being an election year and the "get in line" mood. :( Also, the activism that made DU the first 8 years has all but died since O got into office.

I go to "other" sites and see the names of the best of the old DU -- that is what is wrong with DU3; it is a sad shell of a once-great place. :(
