Nearly 200 Poisoned In China From Polluted Water - Xinhua

XI'AN, June 5 (Xinhuanet) -- "A total of 194 people at a village in Shaanxi Province were found poisoned in the last four days and preliminary indicated the mass poisoning case might be resulted from water pollution, police said Saturday.

Changba Village in Hanyin County of Shaanxi Province has 513 households with 1,742 residents. Starting from June 1, some villagers began to show the symptoms of fever, dizzy and diarrhea,but doctors can not tell the cause of the sickness.

The number rose to 60 on June 3 and climbed to 194 by Friday, and the police have ruled out the possibility of food poisoning."
