Elon, one of the most prominent rabbis in the religious Zionist community, is accused of assaulting one of his students and another youth.

Alon's attorney, Yaakov Rubin, said in court that his client will admit to some of the charges, yet only to those that do not constitute a criminal offense. He also said the rabbi intends to deny any sexual offenses against his students. The rabbi also asked for the trial to be open to the public.
