if Kerry wins will Delay and Frist control him for 4 years?

We know that Kerry casts votes for political expedience. In another thread, this was the explanation for his "yes" vote on IWR. Kerry also voted for the Patriot Act, didn't vote against the medicare bill and has not ruled out supporting an amendment banning gay marriage.

If he votes this way because he is worried about being called a liberal, how do we know he won't continue to do that for four years, worried about his own reelection? How do we know he won't sign RW legislation becuase Delay and Frist tell him "it's popular" or "the swing voters approve" ?
