I find that a very large percent were Edwards people. Many have always felt that no person who never faced having to chose which economic need they have to satisfy could completely understand them.
Many really don't understand that many of the strongest, most successful people who helped the poor - FDR, EMK, etc were born to great wealth. In Kerry's case, one major flaw in 2004 was that they absolutely failed to get out the scope of things that Teresa did - to help the poor, on healthcare and on the environment. It might actually have been one of the worst flaws - as doing that would have validated Kerry, as the man she chose to marry. It also is an attack that goes back to 1971 - even though he was NOT wealthy - it didn't matter - as a Nixon person said "He looked like a Kennedy and sounded like a Kennedy."
