I suspect that he likely was multi tasking during that short call. In addition, had Brown was not that good in his Senate speech - sounding like he had never had an interest in hockey. (He had a Senate referring to Char(?) being 6 foot 9 inches and being "amazed by that" - which to me is a pretty silly comment for a person who played basketball - meaning he's been around tall guys.

I looked at the sites and there were actually not all that many people taking the bait - many even saying they disliked Kerry but this was a non story. I think this is just jumping on to it because of the past gaffes on sports names. I suspect that it simply means that while he is a genuine sports fan, he does not have the time to follow it much - which is close to what he said in terms of seeing the games.

I also think if knew the full names of the entire team and all relevant statistics memorized by only the truly fanatic, he would STILL not be seen as "relating to 6 six pack". He would still be a Brahmnin, incredibly wealthy man whose life is nothing like theirs. That this is true for anyone of his stature is lost on these guys.

But, his competence and knowledge on Senate issues and his actions for the state will be what people actually care about when they vote.
