reading obscene texts during a PTO meeting? Calling one of his opponents not normal? Really? All the signs were there.
But they all fell for the barn jacket and the pickup truck.
This said, part of the issue was that the Democratic party was asleep at the bar and totally out of touch. So, by comparison to these ads that could have taken place everywhere in America, it is possible that Brown looked authentic (though they should have known better).
