1. I really can't imagine Kerry not having books to recommend with his
natural enthusiasm for the insight they bring. Here, it might really be true that as busy as he is that he is still reading W's book. No one who reviewed the book said it was a book you could not put down.

Kerry seems to be one of the best read people in politics. Even when he was young, he was obviously a very well read person from what Doug Brinkley wrote in Tour of Duty. He always seems to refer to books in some background SFRC hearings.

Where Kerry was more reserved than some politicians, seemingly valuing private space more than most, what he did show seems to always be real parts of who he is. I can't imagine the reaction an operative would get approaching Kerry and suggesting "answers" for the books, music or anything else he favors. It also seems rather dumb not to just tell the truth - even if the truth is you have been working so hard and reading so much news, that you simply have had no time to read in the last few months.
