Creating a "Contribute Now" web button for PayPal?

Apologies if this is the wrong forum. Mods, please relocate to one that is more appropriate, if necessary.

I filing the Defense of Marriage Initiative today. Once the proper loops are jumped through and a number is assigned, I will be relaunching the initiative's website (see link in my sig.) I would like to set up a "Contribute Now" button so folks could give money through PayPal, but I've not been able to find any meaningful information.

I have a PayPal account, but from their website it seems that I must be "verified" by providing intimate (and extremely damaging, if stolen or misused) information such as bank account information, plus I must give them financial authority to move money in and out of that account. I am very, very leery of doing this. Is there another way?

Also, the website is written using ASP.NET 2.0, the version from Visual Studio 2005. It seems that PayPal has not yet created a toolkit for 2.0. Has anyone set up a "contribute now" button with PayPal using .NET 2.0?

Thanks for any answers
