1. Comedy and tragedy are so closely intertwined.
It's tragic, because so many Americans actually have this attitude--I'm talking about the ones who VOLUNTARILY racked up debt, lived FAR beyond their means for years, and then are indignant when they are asked to pay it back. At the same time, it's tragic that banks who are supposed to be PRUDENT and WISE financial stewards, willingly lent money to people with no real ability to pay it back. And now they are shocked when those people are choosing NOT to pay it back--or are unable to do so.
