How many Muslims are there around the world who, in the views of the government of Iran, are not heretics and face serious risk of persecution because they are a religious minority? Zero?
How many people in Iran who possess Iranian citizenship and who claim to be Muslims have in fact crossed the border-line and passed into heresy? Zero?
This is very simple. Even if Iran is already completely full and enforces a lifetime maximum of two children per couple, it should be possible for Iran to deport heretics and give refugee status to an equal number of non-heretical Muslims from around the world.
How many non-heretical Muslims around the world would have to be suffering for their suffering to compare to the importance of The Satanic Verses? Would a hundred thousand be enough or would it have to be closer to a hundred million?
