who have lost their jobs, are way more interested in American Idol, than their livelihoods. I don't know one person who is not concerned with their immediate future. I haven't asked about their television viewing habits. I don't think they'll be joining you to protest in any case..probably be doing things like that closer to home. You won't read about, and you won't see it...you will continue to assume that those who do not do what you find appropriate are stupid Americans watching American Idol.
