A group of people were so wrapped up in the words of another, that they gave up their own ability to reason in order to follow a false prophet. This man was persuasive to the degree that he convinced this crowd of followers and supporters to "drink the Kool Aid." We all know the ending to that story, don't we?
Here we see someone willing to follow another to the degree that he will hurt his own family to follow.  Keeping yourself informed to the degree you feel confident in making your own decisions is a lot of work. Is this laziness? |
