i saw her daughter visiting her mother and giving her a card. after she left mom went back to look at the cards she has received through the years from her daughter. i didn't see any implication that a card was better than a visit, just that the card brought back the memories of past visits.

i guess that just illustrates how different someone else's perspective can be.
