"Dan Senor, one of Romney’s closest advisers, has kept a tight grip on Ryan, traveling with him everywhere and making sure he hews to the directions of the Romney “brain trust” in Boston. (A brain trust, rumor has it, that refers to Ryan as “Gilligan.”)"
supposedly, this is all satire on the writer's part. It doesn't read that way! I think he got incredible push back from his bosses. I'm not reading it again to judge it's satirical value, but it wouldn't shock me one bit to think Romney's team calls Ryan names, and vice-versa.
There's no doubt Romney is unpopular even with Republicans, and his 'stench' must be washed away from their party once they, hopefully, lose.
