10. an "expert on sexual abuse" said the classic defense of the guilty is to think they're innocent?
brilliant, that's exactly what they said about witches back in salem.

i heard a snippet of the interview, and i agree that the limited responses i heard match with my lay preconceptions of a guilty pedophile more than what i would expect to hear from an innocent person, and i'm sure an expert could point to very specific things he said or the way he said them that might point in that direction.

but simply stating that a guilty pedophile classically defends himself by "thinking he's not guilty" is a completely idiotic and useless statement. innocent people defend themselves that way, too.
