.....Rove successfully framed the narrative.
The key to making the press propagandize for you is to frame the narrative in the first hours.
A story breaks. The WH fights to get the press to use certain words and phrases on the evening news.
There's video tape of Ari celebrating this very feat.
Once the narrative is framed, it stays that way.

I enjoy observing "unthinking adjectives" that are placed in front of nouns. "popular" is just the lazy adjective they use in front of "President" nowadays.
Other examples: fierce firefight (is there any other kind?) uncertain times (times are always uncertain) etc
