Blair defends long-haul holidays
9 January 2007

Tony Blair has said he will not give up long-haul holiday flights - and said a green agenda should not lead to people feeling they cannot have a "good time".

The prime minister, just back from Florida, told Sky News science could allow responsible economic growth.

He warned against "putting people off the green agenda by saying you must not have a good time anymore".

Greenpeace said he should be setting an example, while Friends of the Earth called his comments "disappointing".

So it's all about your own good time, hey Tony? What a selfish twit.

1. Like I always say . .
We'll do whatever it takes to protect the environment, so long as it doesn't cost anybody any money or inconvenience us in any way at all.

2. Seeing he's recently returned from a fine expenses paid "holiday" in Dubai
... no doubt he'll want to return again later.
http://dubai.isnuts.googlepages.com.nyud.net:8080/

If enabling tourism by building the world's largest airport/ waterfont development/ amusement park/ buildings etc. is the solution to dwindling oil reserves, I wonder who's going to be able to afford to visit? Many tens of thousands of rich tourists of course.... no doubt, duh!

Me??

Never!

I'm poor (don't have broadband so I can only imagine what "Dubailand" will look like; actually I'd prefer to "commune" with the natural world but I see that's been sold off too, hmmm).

So, no doubt Blair/etc. will continue to have "good times" and sundry windfalls in shimmering high rise luxury casinos and maybe I'll kill myself in an abandonded squat-house basement.

You never know. The future is unknown (isn't it?).
